About Face Theatre and the Museum of Contemporary Art team up for a showcase of new gay- and lesbian-themed works in various stages of development. Offerings range from workshop productions to readings and discussions, as shown in the schedule below. The festival runs February 22-March 6 at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago. Doug Wright, whose play Quills dramatized the life of the Marquis de Sade, penned this monodrama about Charlotte von Mahlsdorf, who lived openly as a transgendered woman in Berlin under the Nazi and Communist regimes. This workshop production (a tryout prior to a planned New York engagement) stars Jefferson Mays under the direction of Moises Kaufman, author of Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde and The Laramie Project. 7:30 PM. $20.
